ha ha just realised my mistake, i didnt mention that i had attempted to set them with what i thought was TDC and it ran so noisey! but i set them to 0.50 lol! instead of 0.05 jeez no wonder it was tapping so loudly lol
will have another go when i get a feeler thats got 0.05 on it lol

lol i set my valves to loose to start with as well tap, tap, tap etc best to check with hyper but dont think it matters ally about timing "T" 2 much if arm is fully up should be 0.05 gap you can get em near with out a feeler gauge just set em so they loosely rest but you cant feel the arms move up or down by hand and you can slide 2x peace of normal paper under them wont be far off the best way to move valves is to press the kick start Credit to hyper for his guide

Easiest way to check clearances is to remove spark plug as this will allow you to turn the engine over using the rear wheel until the valves are fully open (ie the "tappet" will move as there should be no spring pressure on it from the cam (ie cam should be flat profile not "raised") and then check and if necessary adjust the gap

I would avoid removing the spark plug because the threads that hold it in are very soft and they could strip very easily...
I found out the hard way!

I just set mine to .15mm and I got a little more power out... It's a little noisier but a lot perkier!

The wider you have the clearances the less time the valves are open, therefore the less time the engine has to suck in fuel/ expel exhaust gas. Am i missing something here?
