With the tires if everyone did over 15 miles a day at 40 miles an hour might see some more problems
metal frame i think it was more the bike design then the metal frame which was ment the 125 design is bigger and can take the speed better i seen a guy on a small 125 on the moterway omg it was evil the wind was making him move all over the place
all it would have taken is one big gust to catch him off gaurd

better tires - course, the picture baotain uk bike has better tires then most of us got
sounds like your mixing what i said up with the orginal post a lil
i never said nowt about brakes only some of what was said was true if you want higher speeds your better off with a 125 which is built better for upto 50mph

Frame twist is a big problem in most flat floor scooters, happens at all speeds (Thats why modern scooters have crossbars built in). Makes the roadholding poor.
The metal for the frame is cheap and I think thinner than the original yamaha, I wouldn't go over the speed it's designed for and expect it to be safe.

Does that make it safe?

i agree but i know nothing about the frame
if you tune the scooter for more speed and then you think all the parts are going to be able to work at higher speeds continuously over a long distancances and its as safe as before then you might have a bad supprise
saying this its only 10 -15 mph and as most of the people on this forum check there scooters often addding new parts and stuff i think it dont matter as long as you dont plan to use it to the max each day

the frame wont bend just because your doing 50 occasionaly, its solid and its not going into any different shape

No, try twisting the handlebars left and right a little at any speed, you will feel it. (Do it carefully)
It's not that it bends out of shape, it's just that it flexes. This upsets the roadholding. It's quite a substantial difference to a modern bike, such as a Gilera runner, They hardly flex at all, yet they advertise that they are not quite at the same stage as a full frame motorbike.
It's unlikely to break through flexing, and it won't go out of shape permanently (unless you hit something), but it means that the roadholding is really bad compared to a full frame bike, which wouldn't flex.

The BT50QT-11 is designed to do 60 kph
The flexing of the frame is unlikely to affect the road holding to any great extent. Most riders who will never get anywhere near what the bike will be capable of. The tyres and shock absorbers are of more importance. While riding you will automatically compensate for the effect of flexing on the handling of the bike. At the speeds these bikes are capable of the brakes are fine. The 125 appears to be a substantially similar design, presumably the Chinese used the same criteria for the design ie cheap, cheap, cheap and thin metal (same tyres) etc .This must make the 125 more hazardous than the 50 as the forces on the running gear are much greater at 60+mph.

its not how your thinking Taishain 125 is much bigger built then the 50cc qt9 the bikes are very diffrent its not a 50cc with a 125 engine
as for quality of the parts tho no better the 50cc
but wheels are better etc

If you are really worried about the dangers then stay in your car .My opinion is if its got 2 wheels rag it.I had just under 135 mph out of my xj600 and 164 out of my gsxr600 yet i crashed my gsxr ob diesel at 30mph.If your going to bin it you are.Its one of those things.Stop worrying about and just live.If you crash you will be more worried about your bike than yporself anyway..I was .i could have cried when i see my pride and broken and twisted .Still managed to pick her up with broken wrist and leg.. #crying#
