don't panic.....sounds like mine when I first got it, check for the brass screw inside the black carb top, it was the only restriction I had, once removed there was great improvements instantly.....

oops, forgot....when I did get 4.7g rollerweights, I checked originals, they were 8.5g? ? this could be a possibility for poor top speeds, but no-one else seems to have had this 8.5g that I've heard about......... ........... #sprint#

give it back and get a 125 !! the chnese 125's are designed to only go at max 50mph
50's are only designed to go at 30mph top speed - de restrict it if you want, It's your life that's at risk, maybe you can get 70 mph out of it de restricted, but your brakes are only designed to stop a bike capable of 30mph
Change the rollers, that may give more speed, but the frame is only capable of 30mph, they twist on these chinese scooters and that affects the handling, so you won't be able to get round corners safely.
These are VERY VERY cheap bikes, the design is AT LEAST 20 years old, and they were discontinued by Honda and Yamaha over 10 years ago - they are not designed to go over 30 mph. if you want to fiddle with a 50cc get a modern one - they start at only 2 grand!

Hi
I have heard on this site that running in these bikes and regular oil changes are very important.
Your scoot is 4 stroke so doesnt need to be as rich on fuel mixture as 2 stroke
Try turning your carb mixture screw fully clockwise (counting the turns) and then turn back out 1 and a half turns. If this has no effect, keep turning the screw out till it does.
A little goes a long way. So be careful.
You counted the turns as you wound the screw in so you can always return it to factory standard.
These engines prefer to be slightly rich on mixture. If you run them too lean it can damage the valves.
Hope this helps ;D

what r08813 wrote is very harsh but some of it true
our scoots are tested and approved in the uk upto 29mph above 35 and they could be dangrous you might think i'm wrong but the tires are not amazing quality i dont think they should be pushed everyday to the max
on the other hand
it can be just as dangerous to go 30mph with many cars overtaking you and all drivers getting impatient and also the feeling like a complete noob could cause a crash trying to rush courners lights etc
therefore i say it is safer to go the speed of the traffic 35mph on the flat is a safer speed 40mph is the speed limit on some roads 30 is to slow for this
with 125 i'd say is less likly to cause an accident due to the higher speed and size of it you will not get passed around town you will allways be able to keep up with inner city traffic
i have both bikes and if i get my 125 to work i will be switching i am looking at buying a new 125 if i cant get it to work
my main reason
i want to be able to drive 15-20 miles a day to work with less risk

has anyone ever had problems going at speed above 35? i havent i have this corner that i take off an A road that is very long but tight at the same time and i can take it at 40 with no problems, as for the frames bending it would tkae speeds of over 100mph to even start worying about the frame ally
