I've just got a BT QT50 11 from Ebay supplier. It will only do 30mph tops and acceleration is really poor when pulling away. Pink wire is disconnected from CDI unit under side panel and brass screw and washer is done. How do I stop drive wheel turning whilst undoing the central nut to check for extra ring? Might it improve as I run it in?

To remove the variator nut you will be best using an impact wrench.

Hope you'll excuse my ignorance- but what's an impact wrench?
