How much further can we actually tune our scoots? I don't think we will ever be able to break the 50mph barrier on the current transmission to be honest What is the next step?

I am at the moment, trying to find a reliable source of 'gear-up' kits for the final transmission. This should help everyone get above the magic 50mph on the flat.

Ever thought of taking your head off, removing the valves and cleaning up the rough castings on the head and polishing the head of your piston? Might not make much difference but a great way to spend an afternoon.

I was actually going to do that while I had the head of to put the new cylinder on.
Only thing that stopped me was I didn't have a valve spring compressor.
I have done some research into 'Porting and Polishing' and it seems fairly straight forward if you go careful!

I was considering cleaning the carbon deposits out of the engine, but i couldn't be bothered I only need about another 4 months use out of my bike before i leave it and move onto my car So it hardly seems worth it to do anymore serious tuning

i am going to upgrade my jet to a 90 and get a free flow airfilter and also at the same time get the race touque spring the 2000rpm and also the 2000rpm raceing clutch. the spring will broadan the gearing so i will try and hit the magic 50mph.

2000rpm clutch springs dont do anything! Do you know what rpm the standard torque spring is? You wont hit 50mph on the flat with just those mods

New to the forum Great sight Anyone got any ideas about a 50cc with a cylinder kit that stumbles and hesitates all through the rpm range? Some days it runs like a bat out of H Usually it seems a hazard in traffic.
