Cant understand why my bike has become so hard to start When the engine is cold i cannot start the bike using the electric start, its turns over very fast, so my battery and starter motor are good, but it just wont fire up. The only way i can get it to start is to kick start it really hard Once started everything is great. Its starts up ok using the electric starter when the engine is warm/hot Anyone have any ideas why it don't start correctly when its cold?

battery's obviously ok, maybe you've damaged your autochoke when doing jet and airfilter alterations............. #emot114#

"battery's obviously ok" is it ?
Battery voltage drops slightly in cold this is for all scooters and can be made worse by various factors
it seems to just about work on kick start which means, if it was my bike i would think it would be electrical batt/plug/wire or fuel realted problem or also maybe to do with the jet or maybe the valves being to tight or the engine being to cold

From the "using the electric start, its turns over very fast" part, I assume that you have not got a lot of compression - check the valves.

Battery is fine, starter motor is fine, compression fine. It seems to be since ive put the freeflow filter on its become hard to start when the engine is cold I think there maybe a lack of fuel getting into the engine when cold?

Try putting some fuel into the carb about a bottle capfull before you start engine
if the carb trick does the job you could try cutting the fuel pipes shorter if there is any slack, and get rid of the air in your fuel filter
cb50j The solution to hyperjams problem may not be the same for the next person other people will get problems like this one who visit this forum in many cases it will be the battery as this is very common

i did not say flat + The voltage must be greater then 11.7 i think it is for the electric starter to work this does not mean the battery is completely flat just the voltage is lowerd by the cold
