you should really use the back brake to start ur bike incase of ice etc
check this
check you connected all the wires up correctly under the front pannel push them to make sure they are clicked
check the wires on your batt are tight and correctly connected and no wires have been sliced accidently cut
what i would do if all looks good put bike on main stand push the front wheel down start the bike let the back wheel spin a little pull the back brake and see if the brake stops the wheel if so then at least you know the brake works then u can figure out if its the bulb or wiring
"It's really important that the brake light works when either brake is applied, it may stop a car running into the back of you. "
Dont be tempted to go on the roads untill you get it fixed else u will prob die

Ive got the same problem, but my bike started when using the left brake and the electric start but last week it stopped starting like this so Ive started using the right hand brake when starting but the problem now is that my left hand brake light doesnt work, Ive looked to see if there is any cables that have come off but cant see anything. I think the problem is in the little box connected to the brake cable for it should click when you pull the brake lever in but there is no clicking, can anybody help. thanks.
