possibly.
This could be because the old belt stretches as it gets worn, and would probably start to slip. A new belt would be nice and tight again!
I have read elsewhere that a Kevlar belt would help to increase speed beacuse, they are a little stiffer and don't slip quite so easily

A new belt is broader. That makes the difference. Not the stiffness. The more you use the belt, the more it will wear on the edges of the belt. This makes you loose a few km/h.

Just ask any bike shop for a drive belt of the right size Don't mention its for a chinese bike as they won't even check, they will just say no!

Here in Sweden there are no known retailers that sell a kevlar belt that fits. The original belts can be found though. But the original belts are of very bad quality though. I ordered my belt from here: www.sip-scootershop.com/I know others that ordered theirs from here: www.mopshop.de/TWS panda has a belt that fits our scooters. These belts are supposed to be of very high quality. Quite expensive atleast here. The brand of that belt is "Gates".

Oh yeah, the original belt will most probably snap off very quickly if you have changed the roller weights to lighter ones. So it is a good idea to invest in a quality belt if you have 4 or 5 gram weights fitted, before it snaps.

I don't think that there are any belts with kevlar labeled Baotian anywhere.
MALOSSI Kymco DJX - Honda Art.-Nr. M617211 (from sip-scootershop.de) 617211 is Malossis own number. That's the number on the belt. According to my packet with the belt, Honda -DIO G and DIO ZX has the same belt.
I think that the only way to find a good belt anywhere is to ask for a belt for any of these three scooters.

Spot on. www.beedspeed.com has these belts £11.99 for standard (order no. 7173) and £27.99 for Malossi Kevlar.(order 617211) I think I might ask 'Santa' to bring me a Malossi drive belt. #groovin# Thanks Botanic, have some Karma
