i have been given a 2005 taishan which seems in reasonable nick . i have one query, is it normal for the front suspension to bottom out and the wheel to hit the plastics even under the lightest braking ? the front drum assy has been replaced . could it of been put on wrong or is there a common upgrade ie a scooter rear shock ? cheers in advance

Hi, and welcome along.
What model Taishan is it? is it the sport or the commuter, or another!

Welcome aboard chap!! Panic over, it's quite normal as my Taishan used to do this. It's quite funny when you approach a junction and slam on the brakes as it looks like you'll fly over the handlebars.

yes its a commuter , just downloaded the manual and i looks like the shocks are rebuildable so will shim up the springs and put heavier damping oil in
