Hello,
My Jinlun has started (3 days ago) making a Diesel engine type noise, which seems to eminate from the transmission box, it started after an A road trip of about 35 miles at high speed.
I've done about 3900km since July when I bought the bike, changed the engine oil 3-4 times, cleaned the air filter and given most things a good tighten.
The only thing I can think of is changing the Transmission oil, which after reading the great thread on it elsewhere on this forum should be easy enough. Although putting oil in after it has started making noise probably is too late.
Does anyone else have any other ideas as to what it might be?
I'm fed up with it sounding like a Black Cab! and the fear of the back break seizing up is a worry as well.
thanks

I was hearing sounds out of there too, it turned out the starter bendix was rubbing against the flywheel teeth a little bit. All I had to do was take the cover off and push the bendix back into place. I hope that this is the only problem!

I would greese the bendix while I had the cover off. Don't get any on the pulley though!!

Cheers guys!
I've taken the tranmission box apart, what's the bendixs?
Also I'm having lots of trouble getting the transmission box back together, the kick start cogs have all fallen out and i can't get them back in!
I don't know where the spring is supposed to go!
Anyone have any pictures, is the box the same as the 50cc on the 125cc i have?
thanks again.

I think the kick start mechanisms are the same on both bikes.
Download the manuals for the 50cc to see the placement of the cogs and springs etc.
It sounds as if this is the cause of your problems. If the electric start still works, I would think about leaving the kick start off!
