Is it quite a thin rubbery pipe? Is so don't panic, it's just a breather pipe. I saw a pipe hanging from my engine once and I thought "here we go, it's about to fall to bits" but luckily it was the breather pipe, just tie it up somewhere out of sight with a cable tie.

I have a thin rubbery pipe that seems to come from the carburettor and dangles straight down. It seems we all have dangling tubes #rofl#

The pipe hanging from the carburetor is for draining the carburetor. To do this, just turn the little screw next to the pipe, and petrol should leak out.
There should also be a pipe that is a head breather tube. My scooter came with it connected to the air intake tube, but it doesn't really matter if it is or not.
