well i replaced vacuum hose ,made no differance , i did find that the where the vacuum hose connects to the inlet , the silver tube was loose , so we sealed it so it was air tight but it made no change, it seems like a fuel prob to me, to much or to little? as on tickover the revs rise slightly then drop again ,if shaken or dropped off stand the revs die and it cuts out, so have nearly given up hope, looks like it be going to a bike garage for their opinion! allso checked all conections and tested side stand switch with multi meter and all is fine..

To test the fuel pipe - and this needs care as you WILL spill petrol!! remove the fuel pipe from the carb, put the end over a small container, some petrol will run out.
Remove the vacuum pipe from the t piece(i.e. just have a length of pipe to the fuel pump.
suck on the vacuum pipe (wash mouth after!!) and petrol should squirt from the fuel pipe.
Make sure you mop up all petrol before starting engine

Hi
I've been thinking about your problem, and after reading about the symptoms and solutions you've tried, I think it could be the float level in the carb, It's too high. When you rock the bike on the stand, or bump it, the fuel in the float chamber moves around, the float rises on the sloshing fuel, and cuts of fuel to the engine. The float is used to regulate the amount of fuel available to the engine at anyone time, by keeping a bowl full of fuel, if the float valve cuts off fuel to the engine early, the bowl can empty and the engine will stop.
After the engine has stopped, I take it is easy to start again straight away. If it is then The float level should be checked.
If you haven't already, download the manual, and it tells you in there how to check it and what level it should be at.
Hope this makes sense, and better still helps!
