Hi all, This is my cdi box. It has five wires, but no pink. Which pin wire am I supposed to cut?

The regulations will probably be a lot different in Florida than here in the UK, so I wouldn't recommend cutting any wire without definitely knowing what it is likely to do when you do cut it. Even in the UK, there seems to be several variations, with some people prepared to snip 'pink' wires as if they were trainee hairdressers cutting out highlights These Chinese scooters must have something going for them if they are able to survive the abuse that some users have subjected them to, and still be capable of starting, let alone running

I think we're all convinced that by cutting a pink wire our Chinese scooter will turn into a high-speed machine capable of awesome speeds. But as your signature say's: If it's not broken, don't fix it, but take it apart anyway, then at least you know what it looked like before it fell to pieces

There are no regulations to be worried about. The scooter is registered in Michigan where a moped insurance provider would be hard to find because mopeds don't need insurance. I found this picture online: It is danish and I have no idea what te text means. There is no pink wire, but if you guys could tell me which corresponding wire on your scooter is the pink wire in the diagram, it would be great.

In your diagram, I do know the word 'Stik' is Dutch for suffocate! I know you said it was Danish, but the languages are very similar! From this it would seem that this is the connection that 'suffocates' the 'Tomt' (engine). Also this is the same connection on our CDI units as the pink wire!
So my deduction is that this IS the connection you need to disconnect, however from looking at the photo of your CDI unit it would seem your isn't connected anyway!--meaning your scooter must be restriced a different way or not at all!
Hope this makes sense!!!

Bummer, it looks like this derestriction may be more difficult than I anticipated... I still have to put in my lighter rollerweights though!

Use a spanner and some brute force!! I tried that but it only started grinding some of the teeth. I'm going to have a friend take it off with an impact wrench.
