Spoke to the garage man, and he recommended with the new models DO NOT TOUCH A THING! Just get a new CDI unit from Dave, the person we got the moped from.
He said 40-45 is what you should get depended if your a fat thingy or not. Quite pleased if it brings this.

the cdi unit is the black box next to the battery, the one which has all the wires going to it(the bikes' brain)the one where the pink wire is.

there should be a little screw on the one on the bike now, that has something to do with the rev limiter on bike.

or so the man says that is making you cough up money for a new one. You old cynic. Although you might have a point. I know I'm new to scootering but I've never heard of a CDI unit until today, every mention of derestricting I've ever read about always shows you the DIY way and not buying some gadget for twenty-five quid. Let us know if it works chap.

CDI - Stands for 'Capacitive Discharge Ignition' - it's basically the ignition unit, controls the spark plug, all modern cars and bikes have them, they can also have restricters built in to them.
