Did anyone here get a service book with their Taishan or Baotian? I didn't get anything with mine except the lousy manual so I've got no idea at what intervals to get my scooter serviced. Just to be on the safe side I think I'll get it serviced for the first time once it's done about 400 miles as I wouldn't mind a professional to give it a look over just to make sure there's nothing wrong. What's a good period to get the bike serviced? Every 500 miles? Every 1000 miles???

Service interval
First service 300Km 186 Miles
2nd Service 1000Km 621 Miles
3rd Service 3000Km 1,864 Miles
Further services every 3000 km 1,864 Miles
If you read the service instructions there is no mention of replacing an oil filter so we have to assume there isn't one!
The first 2 services' are critical to remove all the metal dust thats caused by the engine running in. It only uses 800cc of oil for each service so dont be stingy use Mobile 1 (buy a 5 liters that will sort you out for the first 6+ services (upto 7456 miles or 12,000 Km indicated on the bike) YOUR BIKE WILL RUN MUCH FASTER ON GOOD CLEAN OIL PARTICULARLY FULLY SYNTHETIC. enjoy!
