Hey all, with the crazy increase in gas prices here I will probably be buying a 150 to be able to get to work . how long is your scooter season ? Im considering scootering to work 38 miles each way to save on gas but I dont know how much time is left in the season I live out side of boston ma so it gets cold and we get snow. Im not sure if my 49 cc 2 stroke could make it so heres what I will probably buy its a stroke 150cc called a wildfire , strada , streaker. depending upon where you look . but i wont be buying it from this company tell me what you think dmilo

Nice looking bike. I live in central Scotland and use my scoot as much as possible. The only months that are really a no-no are January and especially February. Heavy morning frosts coupled with ice and snow are just not worth the risk. I've been scooting to work (a 35 mile round trip) each day this year since March. Only had to take the bus once and that was due to gale force winds which mean I can't get over the Forth Bridge.

Like Dr Zoom said there's only really two months where I wouldn't risk scootering. That bike in the pic looks good plus it's ginger.

dmilo, I like how you guys in the US mention crazy increases in gas prices I was in Florida on holiday in March when there was up roar because gas prices has just hit $2 a gallon If you think that is crazy, come over here to the UK where prices are pushing £1 a litre With a US gallon being 3.785 litres that makes our payment approximately $6.73 per gallon at todays exchange rate. Now that's Crazy Ian

Hey Ian , Your right the gas prices in england and europe are much higher but when your used to paying $2,30 a gallon and then the next day it jumps to $2.99 then the next day it jumps to $3.39 its scarey and now we as nation have to start to really use fuel efficient vehicles which Im very much in favor of . thanks Ian

I think your right dmilo, and riding a scooter that gets around 100 mile from a gallon can only be good for everyone!
Over here in the UK and the rest of Europe, we would love to pay the prices you mention for fuel, but I also see your point, Everyone here is moaning about the £1/Litre tihng.
I think we should start a revolution, everyone who drives to work, should be made to ride a scooter 125cc and under or take public transport!

Not wishing to sound nasty but it's about bloody time America fell into line with the rest of the world. The days of gas guzzling SUV's must surely now come to an end? When you think about it the rest of the world is subsidising the USA.

What gets me is the difference in fuels prices between same name supermarkets.
I filled up my car on Friday night at Tescos in Sollihull on the way home @ 89.9p per litre.
I then took my ER5 to Tescos in Walsall the next morning to put a fivers worth in the tank and the price was 94.9p per litre ??
There is only £20 mile difference between the 2 shops and one assumes that everything else on the shelves costs exactly the same, so why does the petrol have to differ so much ?
Ian.

The price on the shelf can vary too. Posher area = higher prices. Apparently Tesco have a price promise on fuel- if you find it cheaper locally they refund double the difference- so if you deliberately take advantage of that you can get fuel cheap there:).
