Me and a piaggio typhoon (fully derestricted) had a little race! We both were at the traffic lights with a long open stretch of road ahead. When we took off He had better acceleration than me but when my revs kicked in, he was history These chinese 4-strokes are not slow! Ive won a few races against people now

yea maybe, i would want mine to go 42-45 on a flat when de-restricted but i have to wait for the engine to run in as its only done 10 miles. what sort of speed am i looking at once de-restricted to the max? so what your top speed on yours you say that yours is the same as my baotian BT5QT-9, does it look the same then???

This bike has been able to do 40+MPH from the day i got it, brand new! I dont think my bike has any restrictions left on it. But if you wanted to derestrict yours then i heard that there is a brass screw underneath the black carb cover! theres also a derestrcition guide on this site somewhere I dont know where you could get a spoiler from

Nice kill with that typhoon! hypojam, there must be something different about your bike. Every other derestricted bike I've heard of (even mine at 50cc) could only cruise at maybe 35mph. Maybe you have different rollers in from the factory, my revs never kick in (are high) after I'm stopped and the clutch kicks in.
Anyways, racing is fun. My 80cc has the highest top speed around here (it's sorta cheating), but there is a guy with an ET2 that has equal acceleration.

I changed the rollers on mt Baotian and didn't notice any better acceleration, and the top speed now is 40mph, it used to be 45!
The rollers that came with the bike are 6.7 grams, the one I installed were 5.7 g, so I have ordered some lighter ones (4 gram) to see if they make a difference!
When I have installed these and tested the bike I will write a review and guide on fitting roller wieghts.

My Acceleration can sometimes be very poor. But when the bike gets over 25mph i seem to have some sort of engine boost lol. i have loads of revs and then loads of power, i havent found any other moped yet which can keep up with me when im at that speed range! its a confusing little situation

Maybe the power curve of the engine meets the powercurve of the cvt and the rest is history... Sounds sorta like the Fast and Furious!

as i am new to mopeds,i have just bought a new baotian BT50QT-9. i dont really know anything about changing the rollers in the engine, ive heard in this forum that it helps with the top speed as well as the acceleration, just a few questions if i may 1. are these rollers easy to put in? 2. how much are they and where do you get them? 3. does it affect anything else on the scooter? thanks guys in advance

1. The rollers are quite easy to change, the hard part is getting the nut off the pulley! 2.I bought a set of 4g rollers from Ebay for £6.50 including delivery. click this link cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-KYMCO-SYM-PEUGEOT-PGO-PIAGGIO-Sport-Rollers-4grms_W0QQitemZ8004502997QQcategoryZ25640QQrd3. Changing the rollers lets the engine rev higher, so while it doesn't directly effect anything else, it does need serviceing more frequently, ie oil changes, checking for wear on moving parts etc. I will be writiing the guide on changing the rollers as soon as I get some spare time, I go on holiday in 12 days, but I will have it done and online before I go away.
