hi all wondered if anyone could give me advice or have had this problem to and knows how to get rid of it. the panels on my bike have become sticky as though there is a residue on them that was there anyway but has suddenly become all sticky. if i try rubbing it with my finger it just makes it worse. hope this makes sense, anyone got any tips thanks jules

Hey Jules, Is it tree sap ? here in the states we have "goo off" it gets road grime , tree sap, labels any mild adhesives etc off. Becareful of what product you use make sure its safe for use on plastic Im sure a hardware or auto store could help dmilo

Try some bug & tar remover first, there's loads of good ones in Halfords for a fiver a bottle - Turtle Wax is a good one. If that doesn't work try some T-Cut, that'll definitely do the trick.

dunno if its too late, but try white spirit! will most certainly remove it!

thanks everyone, i bought some stuff off ebay haven't had chance to try it yet as been on holiday, going to try this week. if not will try the white spirit jules

right quick update, it doesn't appear to be tree sap, the sticky stuff seems to be the matt finish on the plastic as when i've rubbed it off with those wipes it leaves it nice and shiny underneath, thats great and it looks better but going to be a lot of hard work getting the whole lot off. do you think white spirit would work better and quicker. thanks all again jules

White spirit is usually good at removing stuff like that, it won't do any harm to try.
