Hey all in Wales.......
I am from Cardiff and ride a BT50-QT11 (retro) and have got my hands dirty a lot lately so I am well adversed in de-restriction, roller changing, valve clearance and basically taking the damn thing apart so let me know if anyone out there needs any help

Hi Rob
You're not alone we're in Swansea.
I have joined this forum for my son. He had a BT50QT-9N for his birthday in March, and it was stolen 2 wks later. The police have just recovered it from a stream! Where it had been overnight. The body is pretty damaged, but the engine, lights, ignition etc all seem in perfect working order. As I've bought him a new scooter, I am really keen to do this one up to sell to get some of my money back. Any suggestions where we can get some help?
Pam

Hi guys, about to buy a BT50QT-9 for my son who is 16 in October. Read a lot about the value for money, derestricting and insurance so may need some advice over the next weeks as I will be buying one from a place in Newport, Reid-Race-Bikes who have been helpfull so far. Any last minute advice before I take the plunge?

Nick - Sorry its been a while. shame about the 1st scoot, I had mine pinched a while back and they ripped out the wiring loom which was a nightmare to replace!
You cant go far wrong than the forum for help as they are pretty hot on here but if you need face to face help there are not that many dealers about for chinese scooters but if you dont mind a trip this way, there is a place in gwent called SCOOTEX who do a range of scooters and have a fullparts and repairs department. They can be a bit pricy for some things but they get the job done.
If you are still a bit stuck its worth downloading the manual from various forums as I have found it invaluable as beforehand I had no mechanical knowledge whatsover and after tinkering I can pretty much fix anything. I dont check the forum too much anymore hence the delay in replying so just drop me a mail to rob.wyatt%orange.net where the %=@ if you want a quick answer

Hey Tonyo, apologies again as detailed in the previous post for the delay and also feel free to drop me a mail anytime.
Let me know how your purchase is and if the seller isnt all that much like before, check out SCOOTEX in Caldicot.
If you have not already got a scooter, go for one with remote alarm/imobiliser and ABS as there are quite a few knocking about. Let me know by mail if you need a recommendation for a bike and I will give you a couple

Hi Rob,
Well, eventually went for a Sukida from Reid Race Bike Risca Newport, they are very helpful, delivered the scooter including plates tax and 12 months parts & labour warranty from them. 500mile free service as well. My son is delighted and it goes very smoothly.
