I'm not familiar with exactly where the tank is on your bike, some are under the seat tub, some are under the seat, but when you find it unlock the goldy coloured ring and pull the sender unit out, you will need to bend the wire that hold the float down but not too much. This will set the needle on the guage to read higher, so you may have to do it a few times to get it right. It may be a good idea to have a litre of fuel in the top box when you think you are getting low, just incase you run out, or not go too far from home.

If the gas needle goes from full down to red quickly , then an electrical connection is a likely cuplrit. I had the same problem with my scoot when it was new. A connector plug vibrated loose. Take off the front panel & find the back of the ignition. Follow the wires down about 4-6 inches. There you should find a white connector. In my case it LOOKED fine, but when I pushed it together it went in a bit. It was actually part way disconnected. This plug handles every thing that is operated by the ignition switch. Lights, horn, gas guage etc. Again in my case I pushed it back together & every thing was fine for 1 day-then it happed again. This time it was fully disconnected. So I wrapped it with electical tape & have not had any further trouble. Just a little note. Once this plug is fully disconnected, you can NOT turn off the engine with the key. You have to shut off the gas flow & let it stall.
