Hi All, Over the last week I've done an oil change (engine and gear) and put a new spark plug in. I'm thinking that I've basically serviced the beast. If I took it to a garage for a service, what else would they do, if anything? Thanks in advance. Take it easy, Warlock

Check nuts and bolts for tightness. Clean air and oil filters. Adjust slack in cables. Check tyres for pressure or damage. Check the lights. These are things that the owner should be doing as they go along. It's just that many don't.

Downloading service manual also helps, it has everything you are supposed to do on 300-700-1000-every check.

I third that-especially the bolts & screws. The ones on my exhaust tend to vibrate loose. On the up side-the exhaust starts to rattle, letting me know that it is time for a check up.

Maintaining these things is half the fun of ownership :-)

Maybe you ought to try to put another nut on that one that keeps coming loose to act as a locking nut? Maybe you will not have the same problem again..

Hay warlock, the dealers will take your money, usually lots of it, and park your scoot for 30 minutes in the back, and the mechanic will look at it for 15 sec. then you ride it home.
