I don't know why, but for some reason I thought I would check under the front panel today, not looking for anything in particular, and I found that the bolt that secures the handle bars was merrily chomping its way through the cluster of cables that go to the clocks and switches, just caught it before any real damage or shorting out, which could have caused a fire! I repaired the chafed wire, one was through to the copper strands, and then rapped a piece of old bike inner tube round the whole lot, securing with a couple of cable ties. Might be time to check yours?

Just looked at mine the bar that the front headlamp unit screws into had rubbed away the insulation to the headlamp cable. I repaired it and noticed there was a sleeve to cover the wire but it had sliped down. I have put it back in place. Would suggest theis is now a regular check each service. I am going to drop Boatian UK a line so they are aware.

Thats a good idea, mine is the SUKIDA T3, equivalent of Baotian T9. I have seen a few on Ebay from the parts breakers fire damaged, now we know why.
