I'm a newbie. Just got the Baotion bt 50 qt-9. Every time I ride over the slightest bump in the road it cuts out, And then I find it difficult to start. I have tightened the battery leads but no joy. Can anyone help. It's doing my head in.

Can anyone help. It's doing my head in. At a guess I would go for the side stand. This has to be in the up position to start and run, as it has a safety device fitted, and the vibration might be causing it to falter, and cut out. If the side stand feels loose, you could try tying it up to test if it is the problem

Yea i Thought that aswell, Check the plug connector which is attached to the side stand, it might be loose

Tried both. The stand is not loose and the plug connection is o.k When the scooter is on the main stand, if I rock it backwards and forwards the engine cuts out. If I take it off the main stand the engine cuts out. However, if I leave it on the main stand it ticks over just fine. Any suggestions.

Was this one of the Baotians where the main stand and front wheel had to be fitted after delivery?
If so, check that the main stand has been fitted properly, can't help much on the fitting though, as mine was already fitted.

I bought mine second hand and had a similar problem when I went to view it...it ran fine and then kept dying. My hubby thought it was something to do with the stand as did the chap selling it. Anyway, turned out to be a split/hole in an air pipe? Can't be more specific - hubby knows but not here at the mo. The nice chap selling it picked up a new one from Wimbledon and my bike has been running brilliantly since - even though my 16yr old daughter borrowed it on Tuesday and went too fast round a bend...a few scratches and my indicator is now sellotaped on!
