If you have ever tried to take off your can on these models you will know how difficult it is to put it back on! It is not necessary to unbolt these 2 parters from the head, just undo the 3 allen screws that bolt the can to the pipe. Now look behind the can and you will see 2 nuts/bolts that hold it to the frame, undo these, and get 2 more (stainless) bolts at least 1/2 to 3/4 inch longer to replace these later. Undo these and the silencer will come away. Now the clever bit! Take the bands off, and either glue or sellotatape the rubber strips in place. but they must be secure. Next, to replace the silencer, using the new LONG bolts loosely bolt the bands in place on the frame. Now you will find you have enough clearance the feed the silencer through the bands, but before you do, put washing up liquid on the rubber strips for lubrication, and wallah! it slides in easy, now line up the 3 allen bolts and tighten up, not forgetting the gasket. If you have tried the old way you will have found it impossible to slide the can through with the old bolts, and a hell of a struggle to replace the standard size bolts through the holes, hold up the can and hold the rubber strips in place too!. Hope this tip saves you a lot of time and temper!
