no, sorry i didnt explain right, the variator nut that is conected to the vareator, i can move it by hand but not the nut itself, but the hole thing, (so it moves the belt ect) so if i used an impact wrench it would judt spein it realy fast and nothing would happen.
anyway as it was getting dark i gave up and put it together again, and as i did i desided to remove that tube thing in the airfilter bit as people where talking about it. since i have done this my bike has been realy slugish at certen points, mostly on the 20-30mph range it feels like the brakes are tapping on and off. and yes i have made sure there not. im not sure if it is that tube or i have messed something up when i took the transmision cover off. has anyone ells had his problem once the tube in the air filter is removed? i may have to take it to a garage to fit the rollers! #crying#
and btw it is already deristricted

The impact doesnt spin the variator because the impact wrench quickly shocks the nut and it doesnt have time to actually spin the whole variator

You should only remove that pipe if you have rejetted your carb, when it feels sluggish its because the bike isnt getting the necessary amounts of fuel to go with the large amounts of air ps. Just incase you miss it i wrote another thing reagarding the nut on page 4

Has anyone tried heavier weight rollers ?? My scooter repairmen says that if you have heavier rollers you will get a higher top speed and I have read that in a few places as well . I understand with lighter rollers you will get a better acceleration but hows the top speed ??

Sorry to keep going over old ground guys, but I am confused (its me age you know). Ok Brand new BT50QT with less than 300 k on it and going like a dream on the flat 35mph no problem. When it get to hills and we have a lot of them in East Sussex its 25 -10. When its run in I will derestrict but I guess I will need to change the rollers. My main use is a 9 mile round trip to work that includes a couple of steep hills. So do I go for 4 gram or 4.7 or what. Dont want to rev the engine to bits. Also word of warning got a impact wrench off E bay (£14 + postage) listed as brand new and unused. When it arrived it was very old and very used. Contacted the vendor who took great pleasure in telling me that he had managed to cheat me. Have applied for a refund through E Bay (I paid by Pay Pal) but it takes 30 days. So be careful the world is full of B***s. Rob

spaceprobe: I'd go with the 4g as long as you're not doin any really long journeys, I'm using 4.7s,revs around 7000 most of the time, but not great on steeper hills......I'll be trying 4g soon........

I agree with cb50j, go with the 4g rollers. You will need to do the derestriction first though.
Who's the ebay seller, just so we all know who to avoid!

The E bay Seller is Im58, the E Bay Fraud people are investigating and because I paid by Pay Pal my money is protected. It just leaves a nasty taste in your mouth, what a contrast to all the nice folks on here that take the time to help each other out. Considering how young a lot of the people are on here it gives one a lot of hope for the future. Keep it up and take care folks. Rob
