Hey all, I talked to my scooter sales person about getting lighter rollers for my scooter . He said it would make it go slower he reccommended a slightly heavier roller . got a bit confused, but I found an article that could clear up some questions any thoughts www.teamcalamari.com/zuma/variator.htmldmilo

The rollers keep the engine at certain revs and controls what point the transmission will start to gear up!
With my old rollers the transmission was gearing up to quickly and caused the engine not to rev enough which caused a lack of power!
Hope this helps

They look the same as my rollers(Exept they're green) Although 4 gram rollers in an 80cc bike I'm not sure about I don't know whether my bike is 80cc or 50cc So i cant guarantee they will work correctly for you!

hey Hypojam, My 0-20 mph is sluggish so I just ordered 4 gram rollers for $15.00 U.S. pretty cheap I think . Even though my scooter was advertised as a 80 cc upgrade I have my doubts the dealer seems a bit shady but carries every part for my scooter so I have maintain a good relationship. Thanks for the how to I will be installing them sometime this upcoming week dmilo

I got some 4 gram rollers and asked would they be okay for my bike, he said (after sending them) that the 4gram rollers are too light for a Baotian. Im slightly confused should i fit them? Also my alarm came the other day, and ill fit it when my bike comes back from the garage. There is no instructions just a technical diargram of wires. But ill have a go and end up braking it.

The factory fitted rollers are 6 gram.
Billygreen fitted some 5 gram ones and he said that there wasn't much difference, so thats how us lot are buying and fitting 4 gram rollers.
Don't fit new lighter rollers if you are happy with the amount your engine is revving already!
I know my bike was under revving terribly when trying to accelerate, but now the 4 gram rollers are in, its revving high and delivering me the maximum power when i need it!
If you do experience problems with the 4 gram rollers just take them out and put the old ones back in.

Are they the same ones you linked me too as they wernt on ebay. They look good but never judge a book by its front cover, or rollers by the sound of it... #no_no#

I got rollers over the summer, and they came in a kit with rollers measuring from 3g-8g so you can test and find the best fit.
The rollers are high performance and are actually for a yamaha jog- the package is all in japanese! Teflon coated rollers are the way to go, they last a lot longer!
I'm trying to get an electric impact wrench for <$20. As soon as I do I will find the best combination!
