optimax is defantly better than anything coming out of any tesco fuel pump! i get better acelertation with optimax and a slightly higher top speed!

There must be some truth in it surely? #dunno# Well the only good it can do in simple scooter engines is too maybe keep the engine cleaner. Turbo / Supercharged Engines is where optimax was designed to be used, because such high compression engines often suffer from Pinking when a lower octane fuel is used. You may think your scooters may be going quicker when you use optimax, but in reality there probaly not

I think it will increase performance slightly as these engines can get hot and the super unleaded burns colder, so i think it would!

When all said and done, the octane rating of a fuel is the same, no matter where you buy it from. It's only the different addatives the different companies put in that makes them different. The addatives they put in are ony detergents etc, so would not make much difference to performance, if any

its all in your head !!! high octane fuel will only allow you to run a higher compression ratio without detonation, since the 50 only has a 6.5:1 cr it could run on the old 2 star fuel with no effects. actually f1 teams and bike race teams run as low an octane fuel as they can get away with without detonation as it gives better performance

Now people, stop wasting money on expensive fuel to put in a low tech moped engine
