There is going to be a time when the drive belts on these Chinese scooters need replacing, but usually, by the time the belt has failed, any details printed on the belt to identify it, will have probably disappeared.
It might be worthwhile to have a look at the belt whilst it is reasonably new, and write down the details printed on it, then when you do need a new belt, at least you have the original number for reference. The numbers on these belts usually contains the actual size, so if the belt has (this is imaginary) 15-5-180 on it, this might mean that the belt is 15mm wide, 5mm deep, and 180mm long, which may come in very useful when searching for, and ordering a replacement.
If members of the forum could post which type of belt is fitted on which scooter, it would help those who are less mechanically minded. This would also soon establish if the belts fitted to the scooters are of a 'standard' size.
Brake pads are also going to be needed at some time, so if anyone needs, and finds replacements, this information would also be useful here.
With the amount of sales increasing for these scooters year by year, and now even Argos selling them, I don't think it will be long before someone sets up a reliable spares supply service for everyone to use, but without proper ordering information, it will still be a problem to order the correct parts, especially if these parts have been 'updated' on the same model. If we build up a 'database' of parts here, it is going to make future problems much easier to overcome.
