Another thanks to Paul W for these top tips: WATER-TIGHT FRONT LIGHTS: If your scooter has the teardrop orange light on the front of the scooter, remove the lenses and put a small amount of bathroom silicone sealer around the lenses as they will fill up with water and cause electrical problems over time, you have been warned. AIR-BOX PIPE: There is a small design fault on these scooters, the convoluted pipework that fits to the air box has a tendency to kink at the air-box inlet, this restricts the flow of air to the air-box, which in turn restricts the air to the carburettor, i have inserted a small piece of plastic piping into the tube which has cured the restriction problem, this in turn has increased my speed somewhat, check for this as well before de-restricting your scooter.

re air box pipe I had to use the bike without its foam air filter. Wow what a difference in pickup and speed
4 MPH faster and 0-30 in ...........well ok I'm getting carried away
fitted filter back on now
back to normal speed

I thought for a minute there you'd discovered a way of speeding up the bike without derestricting.

Paul W - you're a star!! Coming home from work this afternoon my acceleration felt a bit flat, I had a look at the hose and sure enough there was a kink in it. I got an empty bottle of Colgate mouthwash and sawed the top off: Stuck it in the hole and pushed it right in: And the job's a goodun!! Took the bike out for a spin and it rode perfectly again. The mouthwash top is really tight in the hole (how can I describe this without sounding pervy???) so there's no way it's going to move.

Luckily on my sport the intake pipe isnt anywhere near as bent as that, thats why there aint no kinks in mine
