Your bike can never be faster then how much its geared. I guess your bike is quite strong, well gear it up then and it will get a bit weaker but definetely faster. But drivning in such speed is not comfortable without a windscreen, like the one I have. The windsreen also lowers the airresistance somewhat.

I can't see the point in setting the Scooter up for max speed by changing the gear ratios, if it's at the expense of acceleration (am I right in thinking this is whats being said?)..... Let's face it the entire design of a 'walkthrough' motorcylce (aka... a Scooter) with the small wheels, etc, is that they are not designed to reach high speeds..... I don't feel safe on mine above 35mph, never mind 50+mph! ...... I don't have loads of experience on Scoots but for me the fun aspect is the sharp acceleration, wind in the face, etc, etc ..... I would much rather my Scoot never exceeded 35mph but accelerated to 30mph faster than a Peugeot Blaster!
Cali - I really like you're Scooter, I like the BMW badge, it's good fun and it looks well suited with the styling you've gone for.... but you're biting to people's baiting on here !! Just relax and enjoy the "good crack" (conversation) on here, if you know your Scoot will do 60mph (or whaever it is in nasty kms!) then just sit back and don't worry if others don't believe it ....... Calling everyone on here 'suckers' ain't going to win you many friends.... you're a good guy and seemed really friendly when you first came on here with your cool pics - so try to stop biting and all will settle down.... it doesn't matter what top speed a Scoot does, just that you're having fun and enjoying it.
Dmilo - I'm surprised your Scoot isn;t going faster - mine done just under 40mph last night (on a straight), and that was straight out of the box (but de-restricted) .... with your cool mods I would have thought yours would hit 45mph... I bet it accelerates like George W Bush heading towards a candy store! ...... you haven't got one of those shafts that limits the final drive have you ?

I see the point in having a fast scooter. I have a 90km/h road out to my cottage a few miles away, and doing that countryroad (no policemen) in 45 km/h is just killing me. So I prefeer speed. The acceleration is good anough anyhow :-) Doing such speed is no problem what so ever, because of the Metzeler tires. Doing that speed with the orginal tires dough would be having deathwish or something :-)
Im just as nice as you treat me, and I dont just take crap :-)

Fair enough - you obviously know best, just trying to help ya but the sentiment obviously got lost..... If you want to do those sorts of speeds why don't you get a Motorbike (ie... not a Scooter).

No, I dont know best, I dont understand why you claim such thing, aldough I know best about my moped if thats what your meaning. And i havent lost my sentiment, I hear everything you say, but i might not agree, and the condescending tone in your post wasnt really necessary, was it!? I like my moped, why get at bigger bike when i have my moped, its cheap. Why do I even have to answer this question, I dont understand why you are questioning me? As I said, you get the answers your asking for...

Wow Cali, chill man.
I think something is getting lost in the translation here, I didn't detect any condecendance in DavRos's post. I think, all he was saying is 'if speed if your ultimate goal, a motorbike will give a better result' I think I know how you are feeling about this thread so far, but there are people on here who are not trying to go against you, they just have an opinion, as you do.

Im chill :-)
In sweden you dont just "get a bike". Its associated with a lot of costs, you have to have a licence, go for driving school, driving tests and it takes alot of time and effort. So its not as easys as just saying "why dont you get a bigger bike" and why should I, I belive my scooter is excellent :-)
