Hi, just wanted to let you guys know that I haven't been idle over Christmas break! I've been in Rochester NY for almost 3 weeks and was slightly bored since I left my scoot and vespa moped at school in Michigan. I acquired a new ride- it's a 1978 Puch Newport.

It was another case of the previous owner being unable to get it running. It took a little tinkering, but it works well now. The only problem is that transmission fluid is leaking out of the kickstand holder. I put some rtv in it and it seems to have worked. Not bad for $45! p.s. check out this link for a cool moped video. These old school bikes are getting popular in the states. Warning, the video is slightly lengthy. video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5486885303906866816&q=moped

How fast (or slow) does that go?

How fast (or slow) does that go? Hahaha, it's pretty slow... For now! The transmission oil was leaking, so I didn't get a chance to ride it very far. I used some sealant to fix the hole and hopefully it should be set when I go home again.
