Hi, dmilo How would you paint the plastic parts on my bike (see pic, just above my hand, I'm pointing a somthing else!). They are not smooth, they are lightly textured. I am wanting to paint them to match the silver of the bike, or maybe even a different colour. Thanks

Hey Thanks Phil Im hoping to put it back on the bike tomorrow Billygreen you first need to throughly wash and degrease the parts then you need an adhesion promoter I use Bulldog it comes in a spray can (its clear and sought of like glue) . This allows the paint to stick to any surface its the stuff that the pro's use . I got it at wallmart here in the states but I know you can get it online . If you dont use bulldog you can use a spray primer but it has to be for plastic if not the paint will come right off Which ever you use then you can paint on top of it . I use automotive paint and spray guns but you can use rattle can paint. After you paint your desired color then you have to clear coat it .This is the tricky part of the process if you want me to give you specifics just ask dmilo

Hey all, Got a bad batch of clear coat today it clouded up when I applied it . Most went away but alittle remained and it bothered me so I sanded it off and repainted the whole piece . I got it back to where it was and even better. I added alittle fuscia flake to the mix and now not only does it shift from green to red but when you see the green tone you now see the fuscia flake. attached are close up shots sorry for the poor quality pics tomorrow I will try to reclear the weather is supposed to be better thanks dmilo

Hey Lazyboi, Its a qingi qt50-18 according to the original sticker but Ive also seen it listed as a qt50-9 so who knows , its a retro style 2 stroke. The tires are from www.scooterworks.com I have done all the painting shown in the pics the scooter is also fully de- restricted ( carb , exhaust, & pink wire) . I also installed a high performance rear shock to make the ride smoother.I was planning on upgrading it to a 80cc but decided to just buy another bike that was already upgraded thanks dmilo

Oh cool man, looks like a sweet ride, hopefully might be able to juice mine up the same when I get it!! Think the Baotians look very similiar in essence, so thats handy... just curious you mention de-restricting - is the carb, exhaust and pink wire covered in the derrestriction guide that is on this site? ? cheers neil.
