your the same as me phil, people see a scooter and don't realise just how fast its actually going and just step out. glad the cornering is better for you.
i'm the same though new to scootering and because of running the scooter in it don't go too fast up hills and people just overtake really stupidly and some even forced me into the gutter, well it was that or get knocked of, otherwise i stick to the middle of the road.

It took me a month from the delivery of my bike to getting it registered so every day it was on its stand so I revved it gently to run it in, I'm glad I did as if I had gotten the scooter registered sooner I'd no doubt of thrashed it. I think a lot of the stories about Chinese scooters breaking down comes from idiots who rag the nuts off the bike from the word go and don't perform any routine maintenance. I went out for a little spin earlier this afternoon and twice I had to slam on the brakes because a car pulled out, like you said they don't seem to realise how fast you're going.

just given fruitman some advise re getting more speed from your Bot i found just snipping pink wire worked best - ie dont bother altering needle setting also instead of holding throttle wide open just easing back slightly seems to improve topspeed performance hope this helps anyone else - regards johnnyR (theduck)

The bit about not holding the throttle wide open sounds interesting as normally I just pull the throttle back as far as it'll go and hope for the best. I'll give it a go next time I'm out.

just wanting to know if anyone is having the same problem as me,i am having trouble puting it on the stand, somtimes i can,but more often than not i can "t.i keep practising. I don't have any problems putting mine on the centre stand, just keep your foot on the bottom of it while pushing the bike backwards. It is a bit harder with a top box fitted as you can't grab hold of the rack. I don't use the kick stand (or whatever it's called) as it doesn't seem very stable and my scooter has fallen over twice because of it.

don't know if this will help but on my cbt they said to gently rock it back and forth untill it goes onto the stand. i've managed it like this on my baotian and after a while the stand seems to have got a bit easier so i don't have any trouble now. jules
