some good pics there! lots of "old school" scoots had spare wheels/tyres (lambrettas and vespas) over here in the uk. i would love to run an old scooter ,but they are too expensive for my shallow pockets!!!! and dog? bear??......looks like a c90 to me!

Haven't some vespas got a spare wheel under the back panel on the other side to the engine?
(PS yes that is a typical Juliet description but it's the best I could muster)

Going back to the sexy sixties I remember some did have a side panel that lifted off and had a spre inside, did'nt take much notice at the time, but seem to remember one which was pink and white, big ugly thing and had a word like Moto.......? Innocenti or simular on it. It was probably a 50's model. My Dad had a Triumph Tina with a sidecar! That had a spre wheel, I think on the back of the bike, but may have been on the rear of the 'car.

Early Vespas have a spare wheel rack mounted inside the legshields. The left panel is a toolbox on these. My Bajaj is like this. Indian built Vespas (LML, Bajaj) have a rear mounted rack like the one in this picture. Later Vespas (1970s on) have the spare mounted on the left under the panel. The spare wheel is an optional extra these days!
