45mph will feel fast for the first month or two and then you'll want to go even faster!! I know when I had my old Peugeot 500cc derestricted it could do around 50mph and at first I thought WOW!!!!!! but soon I got bored and wanted to be able to go 70mph.

they will know cos when your bikes regestered they have your details on there computer so if you get pulled over they do a pnc check revealing your age then they will probebly do you for no insurance because it would be invalid im not having a go at you just trying to stop you getting into trouble and loseing your licence before its to late

Hi,
Is it illegal to derestrict one of these bikes even if you are over 21? Is the insurance void?

It is illegal if you only have a moped licence.

Thanks.
I have a full driving licence so it should be no problem to derestrict it then?

Do you mean full car licence? Not sure on the law as its been a while since i got my bike licence. Your licence will need to cover you for a bike over 50cc.
