Looking for good derestricting info specific to Tank 50cc scooters in U.S. market. I have checked out this and other sites which have excellent info on Baotion/Aprilla but Tank are different enough that many alterations won't work. IE; the variator on US Tanks and probably Kymcos don't appear to have any restriction rings but might benefit from different weight rollers-any body find a good weight to improve acceleration and uphill power. I also tried the fix for Baotions moving the ring and gasket on the upper needle valve-it just appears to increase the idle without a performance increase. I plan to cut the stock muffler and attach a straight through sound surpressing pipe extension and remove stock airbox and filter and replace with some K&N filter that will fit. Reluctant to cut any CDI wires as the color codes don't match nor does the wring diagram indicate it's likely to do much to improve performance. Have tried octane boosters and they don't appear effective. I also plan to up the main jet size to 95 but that will be a shot in the dark since there is no telling what is in there now and I'm ordering the jet before removing the carb. Also would be interested if anybody has ordered and installed the scooter universal windsheilds from EBAY for $29.00. If so -any good and how do they mount? It appears they must go through mirrors pins-if so how do you reattach the mirrors? So if anybody in the US has specific experience derestricting TANK 50cc Viaggios or Urbans would be interested- I"d rather not be the pioneer here-but I will update this site on what works.
