Depends entirly on the make and quality of the battery, some of the chinese ones supplied with the bike have only lasted 2-3 months, so 2 years aint bad for yours. You should expect 2-3 years for a decent one, like Yuasa, Exide etc.

How far do you ride to work? I'm only asking because a battery needs at least 3 miles of charging after using the starter motor, to recover its charge. If you are using lights as well, it may need further.
Just charge your battery up again on a charger and see how long it lasts.

usually and i am referring to car batteries although they should be the same as scoot batteries are guaranteed for three years. But one thing about some lead acid batteries is that if they are allowed to go flat. they cannot be recharged and it hurts the pocket. I know co's i use em in my highly specialised metal detectors and they cost me £50 a time to replace. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr aint life orrible lol

just to let you know my scoot dont have batteries so I dont have those probs you guys with em have lol aint that a shame but then my lights go out when im stationary at lights. Have you heard the aussie saying dilligaf? it means does it look like i give a f*ck an expession bought on by the vietman conflict by the guys who served and did their duty not that it matters anymore. memories are shortlived but never die.

Scooterests should know that any scooter needs a battery tender. Just hook it up to your battery and everytime you park it plug it in. The battery will last a very long time, cause it's kept fully charged. The reason batteries go dead is they are not fully charged.

Hi: about 2 miles so that could be the reason then, well i only have a car charger so i ain't trying that. I will just have to go to Len Wades and by a new one.....Thanks for all comments...

Unfortunately it would probably get nicked.

The "battery tender" stays at home in your garage. Only the wire connector is attached to the battery so you don't have to access the battery each time, only the connector.
