Hi All, I was just wondering bf my bt50-11 has an oil filter? I can't see one, if it does have one could you post pics of where it is. Cheers, Warlock.

When you unscrew the oil plug to empty the oil on an oil change you will find a long spring and a thimble shaped mesh, this is your filter, take it out, clean it in hot soapy water, and replace. Thats all there is to it.

Thats all there is to it. Exept that this is not the drain screw/plug, but indeed the filter mesh retaining screw. The drain screw is on the left side of the engine and sits horizontal. P.J.Berg

The drain screw is on the left side of the engine and sits horizontal. P.J.Berg Are you getting mixed up with the gearbox level bolt. This sits level at the rear of the engine. On my bike the oil drain/filter mesh bolt is as described here

Nope, on a Baotian QT 50-9 with the GY6 engine, the drain plug is on the left side of the engine. To do the job properly, you first drain the oil, then remove the filter/mesh(on the right side) and clean this.
As a side note, all Vespa fourstrokes have the same layout pluss a filter on anything larger than a 50.(To be picky: The latter Leader 125 and up engines lost the leftside drainplug, so you drain it through the filter/mesh screw/cover).
