Hi All, I don't really wanna de-restrict my 50cc Baotian..the roads I ride on are a bit crap and the traffic only moves at 25 anyway. What I wouldn't mind getting though is quicker acceleration. Is there any way to do this without the de-restriction? Thanks in advance..Warlock.

haha - NO. even derestricted your scooter is going to accelerate poorly. its 4 stroke, if you wanted acceleration, you would have bought 2 stroke.

Yes there is You could put in lighter rollers. That will give you a bit better acceleraction at the expense of a few MPH in top speed. But that does not sound like top speed would be an issue for you.

Derestrict, it will make the bike more safer to controll and allow better use of the throttle

I'm not sure about all this derestricting, although I maybe on the turn. At first I thought the suspension wasn't up to much and the brakes left alot to be desired but now it's got 1000km on it the brakes have started to bed in and the sus is loosening up...hmmm! It would be a bit naughty tho' because my insurance doesn't allow it. Plus where I live (Surrey) on my commute I rarely have the need to do much more than 30. The 1st half is winding country roads, and I don't really want to try "getting a knee down" on the bends and the 2nd half is thru Feltham and Hounslow..bonehead driver-tastic! Plus, it looks that fine I want the chicks to check my out! Hey Laydeez!!!! Cheers, Warlock.

Yes, derestrict for a bit more speed and acceleration, you can always reverse it if you don't like it. Bet you don't though. Then, lighter rollers, somewhere around 4.5g seems prefered, for higher initial revs & acceleration.

Not a deristriction
lighter rollers is deffinatly the best way to go
if you want to keep pink wire for insruance it might be best you use 5.5 or 6g rollers that should work better especcially of you have heavy > 6.5 gram rollers in now
thinking it will give max revs cdi allows otherwise it will be max revs rollers allow
