Welcome aboard stevieh What's the difference? I thought a Baotian BT50 was just one model? Surely there can't be too much difference between an 11, 7 and 9?

I bought a Baotian Eco BT50. I have a wire sticking out from the rear of the bike just under the top box. It has a connector on it, but nothing to connect to. Can anyone tell me what it's for? All the lights work and everything, but I'm baffled!!!!!!!!!

I've got a rubber tube sticking out one side of my bike, at first I panicked thinking my bike was falling to pieces but it turned out to be a breather pipe. Tuck your wire away and forget about it. I don't know if you've seen the "Where should the choke lever go" topic but some Taishan Commuters come with a choke lever which isn't connected to anything.

The bt50-qt11 is the retro model (my bike) the bt50-qt 7 and 9 are the same chinese sport design copied by many manufactures, i think the differnece between these models is the 7 has seating for one and 9 has seating for 2 the 11 has seating for just one all models have same 49cc yamaha designed engine

Personally I'd go for retro as I love the old-skool Lambretta/Vespa looks but then again they're not to everybodies taste. If the 9 has seating for two isn't that illegal as I thought a 50cc was only allowed to carry one person (the rider) or am I getting confused about CBT's?

I prefer the more modern look myself.

Thats right Jules. I rang up to enquire when my Boatian was delivered and its to connect the light in the top box. That's typical. I've got a Taishan Commuter with no wire for a top box light and last week I bought a top box with a light and it took my mate over an hour to connect it all up. Should've bought a Baotian!! ;D
