Everything was fine with my scoot until this afternoon. I started up to go home and then applied the throttle. Nothing happened, there was no resistance and I guessed that the throttle cable had snapped looked around about and found out it has either snapped or jumped off the spindle by the handlebars. Luckily I am covered by the AA and they came out and said the same thing. There taking me to Baotianuk tommorow and hopefully the should sort the problem out but I am still hacked off.
As the man from the AA said - None of this would have happened if you had bought a Honda.

Who says it would'nt? Of cause you could pay out 3 times the new cost of yours, or still pay more than you did for a second hand one. Look back at what I wrote before............. you would get teething troubles. These things still happen to Piagio, peugot, Honda Yamaha, etc believe me I used to have to fix em!

I'm with the AA man, I'll take reliability over character any day of the week (Honda Dylan - two and a half years old - 110000 miles - not a single problem !)

110,000 miles ?!!! heh heh ......
I'm sorry folks but I'm with the AA man and Dr Zoom ..... not specifically a Honda but you do get what you pay for, I've found out that ..... My Baotian is now getting used by the missus who's still learning and very nervous... but when she's got the confidence, I'll be selling it and getting a branded scooter .... because I do love the look of my black baotiaon, but the build quality and performance is pretty poor.

A lot of sensible things are said on this site, remember these scoots cost about £1000 less than an Italian would have cost and they will go wrong and they perhaps need looking after more than say a Honda. You got it from a good dealer and that will help. My last car was a Mercedes which I had from new it proved to be troublesome and the dealer crap. After 3 years I traded it in for a Kia 4x4 which cost almost as much has I lost in depreciation on the Merc. People said I was mad but had it just over a year now and no problems what so ever and a dealer that is a pleasure to go to. So dont let thses mishaps get you down enjoy your new scooter its more than I could afford when I was 16.

Everything is a-ok. I got taken to Baotianuk in a recovery truvck and after 3 long hours I was back on the road. According to Baotian it was my fault the throttle had snapped. (too heavy handed) but nevertheless they charged me nothing. Not even for labour.
I think personally it was their fault as when I got the scoot there was a huge gap between pulling the throttle and it beggining to work. Do any other qt-9 owners have this?
But now throttle is great. Problem solved. A pat on the back for Baotianuk.

If this 'gap' happens again you can usually take up the slack at the grip end with the adjusater, just unlock the 2 nuts, take up the slack and do up again.

Its what I told you before your scoot arrived they need it little bit more love and care than perhaps others but trust me you will be rewarded for it.

Still using my Baotian 72cc every day for work, great reliability & infinitely more fun than a car.
I drive a rather quick Alfa & a nice Spitfire for the sunny days. Still prefer my scooter for work tho' far better in town traffic, free parking too.
Sort your bike well & it will reward you.

Ally,
It's an old sportscar made by Triumph.
Jeez, you youngsters should research your heritage, it's all 'thou' 'feet' & 'inches' in my garage. It doesn't even have a radio let alone a bass tube.
Outlasts a Saxo tho'.....
