Yep same old thing that others have had. Bike done 600k going like a dream but its Chinese battery is playing up. Electric start having problems, so charged the battery for 11 hours, start now works great but charger showing battery not holding a full charge. I am hoping Boatian UK will offer to change it under the 12 month warranty but if not I will fork out for a new one. Any advice on brands, where to purchase and if these new gels ones are worth the money? On the subject of chargers when Lidl were selling motorcycle bits back in April they had automatic chargers for £4.50. I got one and its impressive for the price, 3 volt settings, fully automatic and cannot be put on the wrong way or overcharge. They usually sell the same things on a yearly cycle so something to watch out for next year.

Sorry for the thick question - but when the battery's flat and the elec start won't work, will these Baotians still kick start ?
I have a BT50 - 9 arriving on Friday that my missus will be using each morning to go 2 miles to her work - she gets up pretty late so will need to be able to get the thing started, so just wondering in case I get a dodgy battery as many others have ?
Thanks!

as long as things are set up properly fuel/air mix etc, the scoot should kick start no problem(even without a battery)...........

Mine started ok on the kick start and once I had done a few miles the eletric start was ok which is how I knew it was a battery problem. The charger shows the battery is slowing draining and not holding a full charge. I have had the bike for about 6 weeks and it as been ok up until now so it may mean that I can get away with a charge once a month but I shall need to get a new battery

Just heard new battery is on its way from Boatian UK, so at least the after sales service and warranty is good even if the battery is not.

Mines gone on my Sukida 125 T3, just emailed internetbikeshop for replacement, dont hold out much hope with them though, but we'll see. If they replace it with another chinese 1 it will probaby last just as long, 2 months or just over a1000 mls, so I will still need a decent one for the winter.

will let you know what one I get sent and how it fairs. The old one I will keep as a spare charging it on a regular basis. I know I sound like a stuck record but I cant fault Boatian UK. When I read all the horror stories on here I feel my £130 more that it cost me to get it from them was well spent

Just got email back from internetbikeshop, suggesting I EMPTY the battery of acid, are they mad or what.!! Stear well clear of TIBS, they are the crappist dealer on ebay, ok if things go right, but gawd help you if you have problems. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Just got another email back from TIBS, and they are sending out another battery, so thats a result. No one should have to argue with a compnay like I have had to with TIBS, but if any other company suggests emptying a battery, tell them its too dangerous, or against post office regulations to send it through the post with acid in, thats why it comes unloaded in the 1st place. As for £13 quid postage, well you can get a new good quality battery down the road for £25, that will last 2 or 3 years, send the Chinky back twice and you are quids in!

Just got my replacement battery from internetbikeshop, its not the crappy chinky job, but Sprint as on ebay for £20-30 (+p&p), so quite pleased, it should last longer than 2 months! 'spose they coul not see the sence in sending out crappy ones for warranty replacements if they have to change them again, bearing in mind TIBS do give a years warranty on parts, and most other companies only give 3 months, so browny points on this ocassion, thanks TIBS.

New Battery arrived yesterday plus a couple of spare fuses. It is the same as the original which is a sealed for life one. No mention of needing to return the old one. Excellent service from Baotian UK all looking good with them.
