Hi everyone, my missus has just got her new scooter today. (she's registered here as Iona). It's a Giantco Sprint Sport. I've been into bikes myself for over 20 years, and currently have a Kawasaki KLR650 (hence the log on name, (it seems this site wouldn't let me have my usual MD_KLR I use for other sites ). Anyway I will be the one doing the maintenance on Ionas scooter and to be honest I think I will have some problems just finding things. Like on motorbikes the battery is normally under the seat. I have no idea where it is on a scooter although I'm positive (pun intended) I'll find it quite quickly. So peeps if the questions I start to ask sound a bit thick please forgive me cos I've never worked on a scooter before, although I have rebuilt quite a few motorbikes as a hobby Here's a pic of Ionas scooter or rather an identical one from the site that we bought it from. Hm......that wall looks familiar in your pic, BTS Motorsport Ltd ?
The battery is located in a little compartment under the floor mat M8. be carefull you dont break the rubber lugs off the mat when removing,

Well spotted Simar that's exactly where we got it from, it's only 20 miles from us. Cheers for the battery info. My first post and I scored the battery location and the hint about the rubber lugs. Cheers again.

If you are derestricting it, all I could find was a slip ring on the variator and the brass screw in the carb. Not sure if the exhaust has an internal restriction or not.

Cheers Simar, it's actually been supplied derestricted via the carb and the variator the mechanic said the exhaust restriction was to fiddly for him to want to bother (aftermarket unrestricted exhaust maybe). It was part of the deal when we bought it. I'll let Iona tell everyone about her first run out on it yesterday, but today we had to cut it short as my KLR developed a coolant leak It's not serious but I need a new connection from the water pump to the carb Damn kawasaki and their anti-icing circuit I'm actuall considering reworking the plumping and just taking out the circuit. You could just sell the Kwaka and buy a scooter. Then you and Iona could go for rides together. Motorbikes are just boring anyway! ;D
