Hey everyone. Update! Mate of mine came round and sorted the main problems. Have been up and around (got number plate sorted) for the last 2 days, and it's a lovely scooter. First day was really nervous, picked up the registration (thanks to Naim at Wimbledon DVLA for getting it sorted so quickly) and got the plates done at Chelsea Scooters, they're a Vespa dealer with Garage and whilst fitting my plate I mentioned that the speedometer and mileometer weren't working, he was so sweet, he got it sorted, (even he found the whole front wheel thing fiddly) Was riding around the West End yesterday and heads were turning and I didn't click why, thought I was riding badly and then realised people were looking at the scooter! Parked in a spot and saw another one but inverse colour scheme. Am really pleased. Even got chatting to a bloke in a scooter shop who gave me an A-Z of places to park in Central London. Still some problems though, the back brakes aren't working properly and haven't managed to get the stick screws out. Also I do think I will derestrict after first 300km. Has anyone had a sore bum after riding, I think my seat could be a little more comfotable any tips? Have pics of the different stages, once I figure out how to upload, they're coming!! Jen

The scooter should never have been transported as it was, it should always remain horizontal to prevent engine oil etc leaking into places it shouldn't. Ensure you check all nuts and bolts etc are tight including your spark plug, as I found numerous loose nuts and screws etc on my scoot including the rear wheel nut.

I get so sad reading all the posting about all the bad dealers out there (if you can call them that) I wonder if we should not compile a black list of who not to buy from.

Touch wood i haven't had any probs so far, back brake is working better than before. My Dad saw the scooter and wasn't happy, but he'll get over it. Have been using over the weekend to get to classes and will probably do so tonight.
Guys, thanks for all the advice, definately need to derestrict, had my first taste of horrible drivers over the weekend, funny how in Central London they may drive more aggressively, but they are more used to scooters than the burbs.

The scooter suits you well,
i dont think it matters to much that it was transported vertically & as for the break
there should be a horizontal nut with a spring near the back of the bike tighten this a few turns this should sort it out
