Hi, found this site as I was searching for information on 50 cc scooters. Started on ebay but was a bit concerned about the quality of the sellers rather than the quality of the machines!
Currently ride a Piaggio 500 scooter but due to change in commuting style (now use the train) the Pug is up for sale and I want something smaller to use to get to the station. Hope I can accept the performance change.
I really like the the look of the Mad Max machine seen on the site but I think I have made my mindup and will go to www.baotianuk.com and get the BT50QT-9N as they supply fully built-up and registered which saves a lot of hassle. The ebay sellers all charge quiet abit extra for the build and registration so there is not a lot of difference at the end of the day by buying from the Company above. The warranty makes a difference as well but hopefully it will not be needed!
Now all I have to decide is the colour. My Pug is bright yellow which is good for motorway riding as everyone should (hahhah) be able to see a yellow banana with bright lights.
As I wont be going on the M11 anymore, perhaps something a little less visually challenging would be better. Red seems to be my favourite choice at the moment, but I would like to see what the Graphite one looks like "in the flesh". I have sent off for the brochure so hopefully there will be a picture in that.
As for me, I have been riding bikes since I was 17. 1 am now 52 (and a fair bit) I starred with a Honda 50 step-through, Honda 175, then the Honda 250 Dream as well as a couple of Velocettes along the way. The Piaggio is a great twist-and-go machine. It will be a shame to sell it, but it is criminal to use a 500 to go one and a half miles to the station-should be reported to the League Against Motorcycle Misuse for that!
Anyway, many thanks for a great site; it has steered me in the right direction as to what and where to buy so it has been well-worth the cost of joining.
will update when I finally sell the Pug and buy the BT50
