Hi guys and girls I am in New Zealand just got my BT125t-t and this is a great site does anyone have the manual for this model. Scooters are just going crazy over here and we don't have much info I have had heaps so far from this site but nothing on the above model. I carn't find any of the redistricting things like you state here so if anyone one can tell anything new it would be great it has top speed of 80km. Cheers Len

Thanks anyway #dunno#how many ks have you done? don't think there's likely to be any restrictions on a 50 in New Zealand, you're allowed to ride up to a 250(when you've passed relevant tests) on L plates are'nt you if you've been doing over 80Kmh already you should be pleased with yourself......... ................... #sprint#

125 is not restricted - It's geared for maximum of about 80kmh ,
It red lines (if you have a rev counter) at that speed
If you exceed that (down hill or whatever) you will get valve bounce. Valve bounce is where the springs on the valves cannot close the valves quick enough, so you can't compress the petrol until you reduce the revs, so the engine cannot accellerate anymore.
It's a strange feeling, you get a vibration that you will feel through the seat.
To rev the engine higher you would need to buy stronger valve springs (If these are available), probably a stronger crank, stronger cam and piston.
There is no possible way of going faster with the engine at maximum speed and the Variator at the highest gear - This gives you the 80kmh.
To go faster, you will need to change the gearing - No other possibility.
Also, if you run the engine with valve bounce, you will loosen the tappets and have to reset them - Also, if you run the engine with valve bounce too much and you will almost certainly damage your engine.
If you bought your 125 cc Chinese bike to go faster than the 80kmh as standard, then I'm afraid that you have wasted your money.

My SK125T3 does 60mph/100kph now its run in, but that seems to be governed at that, it will cruise all day @50 - 55mph, thats fine for me, it regularly does 65 mile round trips, if I wanted faster I would have bought bigger! What comes with bigger? Bigger purchase price, bigger insurence, bigger road tax, bigger petrol consumption, now I remember why I'm happy with what Ive got! Unfortunatly young age is against alot of your choices, so stick with it for 1 year more, then the world opens up at 17.

it's a 50!!!
my 50 sits around 7600rpm doing 50mph/80kph (not quite redline territory)
you could fit a bigger rear wheel.......

Yes it is a 125 and I know what valve bounce is just want info found the pink wire is generator so sorted that and our speed limit is lower than the UK I am from the UK. I do know all the odviouse stuff about the machanics, it has no rev counter but feels like it can do more so I am going to look at the rollers and the driven clutch spring. We have V-moto scooters out here that do about 120kms top just thought I might get more. Thanks for all your replys even if silly

heres some ideas for you more heavy rollers stronger spark these 125's have the same coil as a 50 so the assasins coil and ht lead would work better plug may also help stronger spark alter the valves new exhaust Bigger tires change the oil better quality fuel better carb lighter parts take off side stand and kickstart there is what looks like a lighter crank cover for the 125 one one of the sites in links might give an extra 2mph air filter freeflow hope some of these ideas help
