Hi Just brought 50 baotion from ebay, came in a box, all built up now. Registration seems a bit complicated (at Norwich). They say I need proof import duty was paid at customs. Anyone else had this problem? thanks arrowmc #cheers# #cheers#

I had a certificate signd by the importer to say he had paid duty. Ask the ebay seller for this certificate, they should be able to supply one.

I had no problem registering mine at Norwich, the only thing I forgot first time was the receipt from the ebay supplier. Once I sent it back the registration document was back within 4 days, the tax came the day after that.

Those pesky Norwich people wouldn't register my old Taishan, they said the certificate of conformity wasn't good enough.

DVLA are no worse than any other Government authority, I have found them very good at sending road tax refunds, v5 transfers etc, and I was treated well when I had to enquire as to what was happening with my scoot registration, it turned out to be TIBS hold up, not theirs. Trouble is it only needs 1 ar%*£ hole jobsworth to make it look bad for everyone else who does do the job properly. They are under imence pressure too, the woman I spoke to on the phone was bombarded with questions from other in her office while talking to me, she was near to breakdown, and her collegues were down right bloody rude to her and me! So its not all of their fault all of the time. And the public? 'cause they are never rude, obstinate, non understanding......................................etc

Morning all, I bought my Baotian in March. The DVLA office told me, then, that they would have to pay me a visit to check my scooter over before it could be registered. Finally, today, they have given it the all clear. Just a word of warning to you all - the inspector told me that a number of shipments of these scooters have 'gone astray' since entering the UK. Luckily for me, mine was not one of these. The DVLA have got the frame numbers for the stolen ones. Just be careful of the bargains.
Great site, by the way. Very informative.
