G'day all..... Like whatsisname I'm over the hill. Looking to get a scoot to save parking at the train station - £5 a day plus the season ticket!! So being 100kgs and 6'2" i am in a dilema as to what to get. Do i go for a 50, no CBT or L plates and i can take my ankle biter to school on the odd time i'm at home when he goes. But slowly. Or do i go for the 125 and have to take that CBT thingy and have L plates and no passenger. But quicker. Interested to see whatsisname has a Taishan. I see they dont have telescopic forks. Any different handling? And is a Taishan better than a Boatian etc etc etc I can get a 125 for 650 registered and pick it up myself....if i do CBT, or a 50 for 545 and no worries. HELP....... (PS I do remember his name...just not at the moment and its on a different screen........but he owns the joint!!!) Your pal Mal

Hello Mal, welcome aboard!! If you don't take a CBT then you can't carry a passenger. If you really want to carry a passenger then after you've completed a CBT I'd say a 125 would be better, I'm not even sure if you can have two people on a 50. I think Baotian are slightly better as they have a front disc brake but the Taishan Sport can be bought for £495 on ebay.

The first one and the third one look pretty good, go for the 50 then you won't have to take a CBT every 2 years. PS: Eugene to win!!

dont forget CBTs cost about £115. That's one of the things that put me off. I've been driving cars for 12 years and my last car had a 2.5 litre V6 engine so why do I need to take a test every 2 years to ride a 125cc scooter?
