I started sanding the exhaust pipe today and very soon realized I need to use machinery to work all the rust away. I don't mind, I already have powertool for the job, but more I got the rust away, more fine the pipe started looking. Too bad, it's made of metal that starts rusting right after making love with water (well, oxygen) so.. ..I was thinking, if I go all the way and sand it with 240-400-800-1000-1200 procedure, is there anything else than paint I can use to protect the surface from rusting again? The pipe would look awesome if it mirrored! I tried looking online for finishing chemicals, but all I found is made for stuff that does not heat up
