Your scooter does not function right when restricted. Problem is, you will loose your guarantee if you do derestrict it. I'd drive it for a good few months the way it came from the shop/factory and make sure nothing big is going to fail. After that, do whatever you want to do with it..

yea i thought the gaurentee would be void after tinkering with it, was just wondering if it had to or would be advisable to run it in a bit before getting it super charged!! LOL

It makes no difference whether you run it in restricted or derestricted, since the procedure is the same for both ..you just really need to run it in, unless you are a big fan of fixing things you break. By the way, it gets way harder to run it in right, if the scooter is capable of doing 65km/h and you are supposed to ride 25km/h..not sure though, if you have to drive 25km/h, since taking the restriction off from variator changes the gear ratio. Best bet is to follow the instructions factory is giving you. (Btw, isn't the run in procedure officially called "break in" in english?)

You could be right with the 'break in' phrase and will use that from now on. will prob just leave it a bit as you said and de-restrict later as there is no way i could stop myself giving it some welly if i know its got more in the tank.

it doesn't alter the fact that "running in" is recommended but
these scoots are only restricted for the european market
if you were to buy one outside of europe it wouldn't have therestrictions we get

It with a 50cc prob will leave for a little while before get to bored with 30mph then start tinkering, but that is a good point about european bike as all other have no restriction on them at all and they are the same bike's i suppose.
Anyone selling any gloves and waterproofs or know a cheap place to buy?? i,m in yorkshire but could also do on the net.
